Spring Events in the Upcountry

There are lots of things happening in the Upcountry when our area is bursting with flowers and sunshine. Here are some ideas to get you started:

World of Energy Spring Celebration Celebrate spring and the Festival of Eggs display at the World of Energy. Egg hunts for toddlers and kids ages 4+, bounce houses, petting zoo, entertainment and more! Bring your egg baskets! Free and open to the public. March 31

Historic Pendleton Spring Jubilee Over 300 artisans vie for the coveted 90 spaces. Local and regional entertainers fill the air with music as thousands of people pour into historic Pendleton for the state’s oldest juried arts and crafts festival. April 7-8

Albino Skunk Music Fest  Originally founded as a bluegrass music festival, SkunkFest now features all sorts of mostly acoustic music – including Americana, Folk, Singer-Songwriter, Alt. Country, Acoustic, Roots and Bluegrass. Camping + music = a great weekend! April 12-14

Stone Soup Storytelling Festival The official Storytelling Festival of SC. There will be Featured Tellers, New Voices from all over the USA, and a Liar’s Competition that you can apply to compete along with an Amateur Hour for new tellers to compete — cash prizes for both events. April 20-22

Iron City Festival Blacksburg, SC, hosts this festival that draws thousands for two days of family fun.  You’ll find a street fair with arts & crafts, food, retail, free live entertainment and art exhibits. April 20-21

Pickens Azalea FestivalThe Festival resembles a large family reunion and features an antique car cruise, arts & crafts, games for children and live music. April 20-21

Spring Fling Spartanburg Thousands of people converge on Downtown Spartanburg for a weekend of fun. Festival-goers can look forward to a professional bicycle race, lots of great shopping in the arts and crafts marketplace, savory food, tons of family-friendly activities, classic cars, and an extensive lineup of great entertainment. April 27-29
