Meece Shoals

Meece Mill Road
Pickens, SC 29671

Meece Shoals, located on Twelvemile River is named for the old gristmill that used to be in operation called Meece Mill. The water forming the shoals comes from a concrete dam which used to power the old watermill. Now the mill is a restraunt and serves lunch on the third Saturday of every month.

The mill and the shoals are both visible from the parking lot so no hiking is involved.

DIRECTIONS:

1.  From Pickens, drive on US 178 West for 6.3 miles to Meece Mill Road (LEFT).

2.  Follow Mecce Mill Road for 3.1 miles to the parking area and mill on your left.
