Tie the Knot in the Upcountry
If there is one thing we can say for certain, it is that there are plenty of options for a wedding in the Upcountry of South Carolina. Whether you want an outdoor wedding with just a handful of people or you need a block of rooms and a reception area for 500, you’ll have choices here.
Some of the unique outdoor settings in the area for your ceremony or pictures are:
Chattooga Belle Farm—Set among a spectacular view of rolling hills and mountain views is a 5,000 square foot barn, perfect for weddings and events. The back of the barn opens onto a covered patio that frames the 270-degree view of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Hatcher Garden & Woodland Preserve—this 10-acre botanical garden in Spartanburg offers an intimate setting for small groups and features a 10-foot waterfall along with natural landscapes and is just minutes from Interstate 26.
Falls Park & Rock Quarry Garden—both are Greenville city parks located in the heart of downtown and offer unbelievably beautiful locations for intimate gatherings of less than 100 people. And after your ceremony, you are already downtown!
Belleview Meadows-located in Fountain Inn, this wedding and event venue has rolling meadows and a picturesque pond, along with a 4600 square foot barn to host your event. Things are made easy with unlimited on-site parking, chairs and tables, decor items and seating for up to 250 guests.
Symmes Chapel—known as “Pretty Place” because of the amazing view from this open-air chapel, is part of YMCA Camp Greenville. Because the view is so breathtaking, it is advised to schedule your reservation at least six months to a year ahead.
Table Rock Lodge—a carefully restored CCC-era facility within a state park that has a commanding view of Table Rock Mountain. It consists of two levels–the upstairs has two fireplaces and is an ideal chapel-style setup for an indoor ceremony while the downstairs is setup as a dining area with a caterer’s kitchen.
Camp Buckhorn at Paris Mountain State Park–this location has been a popular setting for weddings, family reunions, church retreats, business retreats and group gatherings since it was built with logs and rubble stone by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1936-37.
View Point at Buckhorn Creek–this unique property has unobstructed views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and is located only 15 minutes from downtown Greenville. 200 guests can enjoy the Koi pond, timber-framed pavilion with rock fireplace and the amazing view.
SC Botanical Garden—offers a beautiful natural backdrop for weddings and receptions with up to 400 guests with indoor and outdoor venues available. Conveniently located near Clemson University and major highways.
