Big Water Marina and Campground Hosts Labor Day Tailgate Party

The marina is bringing in the opening weekend of college football and Labor Day weekend with

their biggest tailgate party to date – featuring top games of the day live-streamed on a 12’ LED

screen.

Starr, SC: On Saturday, August 31, 2024, Big Water Marina and Campground will host their

first-ever tailgate party with special appearances from Upstate vendors and food trucks, along

with a 12’ LED screen live streaming the biggest games of the day. Big Water Marina invites

members of the community to join their team as they launch football season and Labor Day

weekend on Lake Hartwell.

The event will start at noon with the kick-off of the Clemson-Georgia game. Visitors can enjoy food and

beverage offerings of several Upstate food trucks, including Twisted Q BBQ, Firehouse Dogs, and the

Shaved Ice Shack. J.R. Cash’s Grill and Bar, Big Water Marina’s on-site restaurant will also be serving

food and cocktails from their main dining area & rooftop bar. Guests can enjoy a full tailgate

atmosphere with yard games, such as cornhole, and special pop-up vendors including a trucker hat bar,

face painting, sweet treats from Sweet HoneyLou, and kettle corn!

Entertainment Schedule:

12:00 p.m. – Clemson-Georgia

3:30 p.m. – Texas-Colorado St / Miami-Florida

7:00 p.m. – Live Music from Jonathan Ingram

Parking will be $5 for cars parked inside the gate. Free parking will be available outside of the

gate as well. Guests will have convenient access to a transient shuttle that will transport them

between parking areas and entertainment grounds. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs

for comfortable seating options at the tailgate area. The event is welcome to all ages and pets,

but please bring proper restraints, sun protection, and footwear, as needed.

● Handicap parking areas are available with free access to the transient shuttle

● Boat ramp access will be closed to the public and tenants between the hours of 9:00

a.m. – 10:00 p.m. on the day of the event (6/29)

About Big Water Marina and Campground: Big Water Marina is a self-service facility that is located

on the largest expanse of open water on Lake Hartwell. The marina supports 150+ wet slips for both

long and short-term boat parking. The full-service campground includes RV sites, primitive tent sites,
