MAULDIN, S.C. — The Mauldin Theatre Company will wrap up its 2023-2024 season with the beloved classic Disney musical “The Little Mermaid” from May 2-19 at the Mauldin Cultural Center auditorium. Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beloved stories and the classic animated film, Disney’s The Little Mermaid is a hauntingly beautiful love story for the ages. With music by eight-time Academy Award winner, Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater and a compelling book by Doug Wright, this fishy fable will capture your heart with its irresistible songs, including “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl” and “Part of Your World.”
“We’re so excited to be closing our fifth season with Disney’s The Little Mermaid! We’ve seen so much growth with our theatre this past year and this production really showcases that,” Theatre Coordinator Kristofer Parker said.

Sunday, May 19 | 2 p.m.
The show runs for 2 hours and 15 minutes, with one 15-minute intermission, and has haze/fog effects and strobe lights. Tickets are $20 for general admission and $15 for students, seniors and members of the military and can be purchased here.
The show is directed by Mia Phillips, Music Director Shawn Salley and stars Lilly Schuchart as Ariel and Brandon Ledford as Prince Eric.
The Mauldin Cultural Center auditorium offers wheelchair-accessible seating and is located at 101 E. Butler Rd.
About the show
Ariel, King Triton’s youngest daughter, wishes to pursue the human Prince Eric in the world above, bargaining with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to trade her tail for legs. But the bargain is not what it seems, and Ariel needs the help of her colorful friends, Flounder the fish, Scuttle the seagull and Sebastian the crab to restore order under the sea.
