” The Hunchback of Notre Dame” -Musical

Musical runs from Sept. 21 through Oct. 1 at the Mauldin Cultural Center

MAULDIN, S.C. — The Mauldin Theatre Company will kick off its 2023-2024 season with the sweeping, grand-scale musical “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” from Sept. 21 through Oct. 1 at the Mauldin Cultural Center auditorium. Based on Victor Hugo’s 1831 novel and songs from the 1996 Disney film, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” is the biggest show the Mauldin Theatre Company has ever produced in terms of set, lighting, effects, music and cast, with 24 cast members and several members of the Mauldin City Singers.

“With this being my first full season, I knew I wanted to open with something really special and tell a different story on our stage,” said Director/Choreographer Kristofer Parker, who is also the Mauldin Cultural Center’s Production & Theatre Coordinator. “I pinch myself at every rehearsal listening to the cast sing this beautiful score and think, ‘wow, we’re really doing Hunchback!’ The show really takes audience members on an emotional and relatable journey.”

The show runs for 2 hours and 15 minutes, with one 15-minute intermission, and has haze/fog effects and strobe lights. Tickets are $20 for general admission and $15 for students, seniors and members of the military and can be purchased here.

The show features Music Director Holly Caprell and Choir Director Pam Mayfield and stars Drew Kenyon, Griffin Lewis, Laura Lim and Andrew Mullin.

The Mauldin Cultural Center auditorium offers wheelchair-accessible seating and is located at 101 E. Butler Rd
