Dargans Cascade is a two-part cascade but due to a curve in the river, vegitaion, and debris, you cannot see both parts at the same time.

The upper part is visible when you cross the Middle Saluda River and the lower part can bee seen through the trees from Jones Gap Trial.

The 1.2 mile long hike is strenuous and reaching the base of the cascade requires bushwhacking so come prepared. The trail drops from 2,920 feet to 2,560 feet in just 0.7 mile therefore the hike down requires stong knees and the hike up requires stong legs and lungs.

DIRECTIONS:

1.  From the Post Office in Cleveland where US 276 and SC 11 meet, follow 276 for 13.6 miles to a parking lot designated for Raven Cliff Parking on the RIGHT side of the road (1.1 miles past Caesars Head and the visitors center).

2.  Once parked in the parking lot, take the Tom Miller Trail #2 for 0.7 mile until you reach an intersection with the Jones Gap Trail #1. Turn RIGHT on the JGT#1 and continue 0.5 mile to the log that crosses over the Middle Saluda River and Dargans Cascade.
