The highway meanders through hardwood forests along the Blue Ridge Mountains. The 20-mile byway, 14 miles are officially designated a National Forest Scenic Byway, winds through the Blue Ridge Mountains offering scenic views of the mountains. The byway follows SC 107 and SC 413.
