Eastatoee Gorge Falls is a gorgeous sight but it is a fairly strenuous hike to get that gorgeous view. After about 2.5 miles and 2.5 hours you will reach the 25-foot tall, 15-foot wide fall. In 2004 after Hurricane Ivan, the original trail to the falls was closed. Eastatoee Gorge Falls is located iin the Eastatoee Creek Heritage Preserve, which is 373 acres of managed and protected land by DNR.

DIRECTIONS:

1.  From Pickens, take US 178 west for 16.7 miles until you reach Laurel Valley Road on your left. After turning down Laurel Valley Road take the immediate right fork onto Horsepasture Road.

2.  Follow Horsepasture Road for 0.2 mile until you've reached the sign "To Eastatoee Creek Heritage Preserve." Park at this entrance.

3.  Past the metal barricade, walk the old roadbed for 2 miles to the Hemlock Bottoms Camp. Continue through the campground for another 0.5 mile and the Eastatoee Gorge Falls should be on your left.
