Located in historic downtown Walhalla, Oconee History Museum brings history back to life through interpretive exhibits, educational and community programs, and much more. Housed in the 1892 tobacco factory, the museum features Oconee County artifacts and interpretive exhibits illustrating the history and heritage of Oconee County from prehistory to present. Of special interest are 2 fully preserved dugout canoes rescued from local rivers. Other popular exhibits include the walk-in Stumphouse Tunnel, the Louise Russell Alexander Children's Corner, and the Oconee Ancestor's Gallery. Oconee History Museum is also featured on the Upstate Heritage Quilt Trail.
