A Fun, Festive, and Totally Unpredictable Holiday Celebration
This Christmas, Gaffney is brimming with Santa surprises! It’s a Silly Santa Takeover, and the town is transforming into a jingle-filled adventure—full of big Santas, tiny Santas, dancing Santas, Santas on scooters… and you never know who you’ll see next! Parade participants will be decked out as the silliest Santas you’ve ever seen, and spectators are encouraged to bring their own Santa spirit and join in the fun.
The festivities kick off Friday, December 5th at 5:30 PM with the Mayor’s Tree Lighting. But before that, make sure to put on your most festive and outrageous holiday outfit for the Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest at 5:00 PM! Participants should meet at City Hall Park, and prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
By 6:00 PM, Downtown Gaffney bursts to life with the Silly Santa Parade, featuring floats, flash mobs, and maybe even a spontaneous Santa conga line. Who knows what—or who—might pop up around the next corner?
At Jolly Park, the award-winning Christmas Laser Light Show runs from 6:00–10:00 PM each night. Lasers twirl, music fills the air, and if you look closely, Santa hats may appear dancing in the lights.
On Saturday, the Christmas Market offers handmade gifts, seasonal treats, and of course, Santa! While parents browse the booths, kids can enjoy a wide variety of games, activities, and holiday fun designed for all ages. The market is located at 210 West Frederick Street, in the parking lot of the Gaffney Visitors Center & Art Gallery, and runs from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
With free admission and surprises around every corner, this weekend promises festive cheer, laughter, and plenty of chances to show off your silliest Santa style—from hats to scooters to the loudest Christmas sweater in town!
