Apple season begins in August with early varieties and lasts through November. Here in the Upcountry, you’ll find small family-run farms growing this delicious fall fruit and operating roadside stands at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The MacGregor Orchard is a family owned 20-acre fruit farm located on South Carolina Highway 11 in Travelers Rest in northern Greenville County. Our fruit orchard offers 11 different types of fruits that start ripening in mid-June through late November which includes peaches, nectarines, apples, plums, prunes, pears, Asian pears, muscadines, apricots, figs and oriental persimmons. We also make our own Fancy Fruit Preserves, apple sauce, and press our own apple cider.

Gala apples and yellow freestone peaches through the end of August. In September find Red & Golden Delicious, Matsu, and Granny Smith along with peach salsa, chow chow, honey and roasted nuts.

Blue Haven Orchard

Yellow peaches through August, then apples starting in September. We have Golden Supreme, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, and Stamens along with canned goods, homemade apple fritters and refreshing fruit slushies.

The apple stand has peaches for sale the end of July and will be available until the first or second week of September. The U-Pick apples sales open on August 15 through the middle of October. We have picnic tables available for those who want to bring a picnic lunch. We press our own cider and have free samples. We have a wide selection of jams and jellies, a wide selection of canned goods, honey from our bees, sorghum syrup and local vegetables when in season.
