The area is perfect for outdoor lovers, with the Chattooga River for kayaking, whitewater rafting, swimming, fishing, and plenty of hiking and zip-line canopy tours. Where to Eat:

Long Creek has some great eating spots the locals (and visitors) love to congregate at for a bite. Check out some of these between outdoor events, kayaking, or simply taking in the sights

  • Humble Pie – Location: 14239 Long Creek Hwy, Long Creek, SC, 29658. Hours: Mon. – Wed. (closed), Thurs. (11 am – 3 pm), and Fri. – Sun. (11 am – 8 pm). Humble Pie is known for its great pizza, sandwiches, and salads! Started in 2004 by Mike Stockton, they still use the original dough recipe (with a few twists).
  • Gauge Coffee House – Location: 14239 Long Creek Hwy, Long Creek, SC, 29658. Hours: Mon. – Sun. (8 am – 4 pm). Serving up coffee and espresso, along with homemade muffins, biscuits, bagels, and soft-serve ice cream. The bagels are made from the same pizza dough as their sister restaurant, Humble Pie! 
  • Willie’s Tavern – Location: 110 Blalock Pl, Long Creek, SC, 29658. Hours: Mon. – Thurs. (5  – 10 pm), Fri. (5 – 11 pm), Sat. (12 – 11 pm) and Sun. (12 – 10 pm). Located inside the Chattooga River Lodge, this dog-friendly, family-friendly restaurant and bar is full of good vibes and good people. This rustic post and beam lodge also hosts eight guest rooms, 17 creekside campsites, and a few RV sites nestled in the woods.

Where to Explore:

Long Creek & Mountain Rest are home to several orchards and by mid-summer, they’re harvesting peaches, blueberries, and grapes. Closer to September, you’ll be able to purchase lots of apple varieties, muscadines, and other grapes.

  • Chattooga Belle Farm – Location: 454 Damascus Church Rd., Long Creek, SC, 29658. Hours: Farm Store and U-Pick: Seven days a week, 9 am – 5 pm. Chattooga Belle Farm is a 138-acre working farm and event venue. They also grow more “exotic” fruit, including arctic kiwis, pawpaws (aka papayas), figs, and persimmons, harvested in August. 
  • Bryson’s Apple Orchard – Location: 1011 Chattooga Ridge Rd., Mountain Rest, SC, 29664. Hours: Sun. – Sat. (9 am – 6 pm). Bryson Farms has been in the family for three generations. They no longer offer “you pick” but have peaches in the summer and apples in the fall, along with jams, jellies, pickles, and local honey at their roadside market.
  • Long Creek Market – Location: The Orchard next to Humble Pie (14161 HWY 76, Long Creek, SC, 29664). Hours/Times: Sundays (May 19 – Aug 11), 1 to 6 pm. The Long Creek Market brings together the community to locally sell and showcase their products, including farmers, craftspeople, musicians, and more!

Where to Play:

From ziplining and whitewater rafting, hikes to waterfalls, and live music on the weekends, check out some of our picks for where to play in Long Creek!

  • Wildwater Chattooga – Zipline & White Water Rafting – Location: 1251 Academy Road, Long Creek, SC, 29658. Hours/Season: Early March – October 31, Monday – Sunday (9 am – 5 pm). Their zipline features over ½ mile of air time with 10 ziplines between trees and platforms and two sky bridges. This beautiful gorge contains twenty-six miles of rafting adventure, split into two different river trip sections for all experience levels. 
  • Check out a list of great hikes to waterfalls close by in our “Winter Vacations in the Upcountry” article. Here are some of our favorites:
    • Reedy Branch Falls –  Location: Reedy Branch Falls Trailhead, 15760 Long Creek Hwy, Mountain Rest, SC, 29664. Hike Length/Difficulty: Travelers along Oconee County’s US 76 enjoy this easy, short (0.2 mile) walk from the two-lane roadway, with a beautiful 30-foot waterfall tucked among the trees of Sumter National Forest. 
    • Brasstown Falls – Location: Brasstown Road, Long Creek, Westminster, SC, 29693. Hike Length/Difficulty: The hike is approximately 1.5 miles (round trip) to reach all three waterfalls. Upper Brasstown Falls is accessed from the left spur of the trail; Middle and Lower Brasstown Falls can be accessed from the main trail. 
    • Riley Moore Falls – Location: Riley Moore Falls Trail, Westminster, SC, 29693. Hike Length/Difficulty: Explore this 1.9-mile out-and-back trail near Long Creek, SC. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 55 min to complete. This is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and walking. 
  • Silver Dollar Music Hall – Location:  12278 Long Creek Hwy, Westminster, SC, 29693. Hours: Fridays (7 – 11 pm). Live Bluegrass music every Friday! Check their Facebook page for upcoming events and artists.
