    • For those who want tournaments, the Upcountry has no shortage of them throughout the year. Check out some of the biggest and best below:
      • The BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX  (happens in early June each year) is the only tournament on the Korn Ferry Tour where amateurs and celebrities are grouped with KF Tour professionals in a two-course, three-day better-ball competition. Amateurs, professionals, and celebrities rotate between two courses, the Carolina Country Club and the Thornblade Club on Thursday and Friday. This tournament draws an estimated 40,000 spectators each year, 20% of whom travel in from out of town.
      • Chanticleer National Senior Invitational – (late March each year). This invitational started in 2011 to provide a challenging course for super senior and elite senior golfers recognized for their playing accomplishments on an international and national scale. The format for the tournament is a 54-hole stroke play on Greenville Country Club’s Chanticleer course.
      • Chili Pepper Golf Tournament – (mid-April each year). Don’t miss the 7th Annual BAMA Chili Pepper Golf Tournament, held in conjunction with the SC State Chili Cook-off Championship. This premiere golf tourney will be played at the beautiful Saluda Valley Country Club.  The entry fee is $325/four-man team.
      • The Upstate Spring Two-Man Team Championship – (early May each year) At The Carolina Country Club, this flight begins with a 9 am shotgun start on both days. Day 1 will feature a best-ball format on Hole 1-9 and Captain’s Choice on Holes 10-18. On the second day, holes 1-9 will be California Best Ball (players swap drives, then play the best ball), and holes 10-18 will be Texas Scramble. This championship is put on by the Greenville County Golf Association, which has been around since 1967.
